My story so far...
Growing up I always felt like everyone else was different, yep not that cliche of "I always felt so different". I found everyone very confusing. I sometimes had struggles that others didn't and I couldn't understand why.
Becoming a teenager was when I realised it was actually me that was the different one. Autism was something I only knew a little about but it seemed to fit perfectly for the problems I was having.
Since my diagnosis I've adapted my life so it is more healthy for how my brain works. I've built up my own career which consists of raising a better understanding of autism through a variety of mediums. You can learn more about what I'm up to now on my "Services" page.
How Old Were you when you were diagnosed?
18 Years Old
How long did it take to get Diagnosed?
For me it was actually all pretty quick, about 6 months from initial GP appointment to receiving my diagnosis letter.
are you relieved you got diagnosed?
Hell yeahhhhhh. I've had a far better understanding of how my brain works and have since been able to adapt my life to make it better suited to me.
